This film was made from the life stories of workers in major industrial slaughterhouses.
"At the beginning, you think you won't stay.
But you only change shift, or service.
We want a normal life.
We've bought a house, children have been born.
We persist, we brace ourselves.
It hurts during the day, it hurts at night, it hurts all the time.
You hang on even so, until the day comes when you can't hang on any more.
Your articulations give way, your nerves give way.
Then the factory lays you off.
Unless you've managed to become a foreman, and you force others to take what you can't take yourself.
But you can also choose to refuse that."
