Encantado
( Brésil désenchanté )

2019 - 52 min - Video Full HD - Couleur - France

Has the country that bedazzled the world become disenchanted? Considered as the land of the future at the dawn of this century, Brazil faced a serious economic and institutional crisis on the eve of hosting its first Olympic games.
This crisis led to the impeachment of president Dilma Rousseff and to the imprisonment of former president Lula, marking the end of a period. The film chooses to revive this period through the eyes of the Lula-Dilma generation, the country’s first generation of working class people who had the opportunity to study abroad.
From Rio to Paris, "Encantado" gives a voice to this generation, an opportunity to tell the story of the events that led the country to its disenchantment, and to share their questions about the meaning of this crisis.
At a time when other democracies appear undermined and spontaneous protests illustrate a form of disillusionment, the movie uses Brazil as an example to question the future of togetherness and to invent a new political destiny.
