Against the background of economic depression, in the steel basin of Liège, five workers belonging to four different generations count the time going by all along the seasons of life. Five characters, five destinies caught up in the time of seasons, and the time to live, with solstices leading from unemployment to work, from work to retirement, to the pulsating rhythm of weeks and week-ends, working hours and free time, a time of inertia and violence when finally each one can freely express their desires, their impulses, their fantasies.
