With the chamber choir "Accentus" that she has created, Laurence Equilbey wants to defend a repertoire that is little known at the moment, while working in more depth on compositions of the 19th and 20th centuries. Excerpts from romantic and contemporary pieces, interspersed with interviews with this enthusiastic woman, let us appreciate the rigour and the quality of this group of around thirty singers.
Laurence Equilbey learned how to make her movements more personal through studying with Eric Ericson, the choir master of the Swedish radio. [...] She considers the choir to be a unique instrument. While studying in Scandinavia, she became immersed in the harmonies of composers like Ingvar Lidholm or Jan Sandström that she now performs with her choir. But as "Accentus’s" repertoire is supposed to be as diversified as possible, they also turn to Schubert, Brahms, Poulenc and others, for the pleasure of an increasingly appreciative audience.
