Un passeport hongrois
Sandra Kogut
2001 - 72 min - DV Cam & Super 8 mm - Couleur - France, Belgique

A Brazilian filmmaker, living in Paris for 10 years, decides to look for her deep Jewish and Hungarian roots, by going the opposite way to her grand parents en 1937, (Budapest to Rio). Parallel to the story told by her grand mother, she investigates into Hungarian and Brazilian archives, digging up treasures, questioning her family in Rio end Budapest. She wants to get Hungarian nationality, the Hungarian passport, the one lost by her grand-parents.
This administrative enquiry, this quest, political and historical, brings us to wonder about boarders, nationalities, cultural identities and multiplicities.
