MuCEM – Naissance d’un musée
Samuel Lajus
2013 - 53 min - Couleur - France

A museum of civilizations, of the present, of societies in constant evolution, a living museum: the MuCEM is all of these. An heir to the former Musée des Arts et Traditions populaires and the Musée de l’Homme de Paris, it features collections that are uniquely European.
To ensure this Mediterranean identity, the museum has launched fundraising campaigns throughout the area. A multitude of questions initially arose: which objects should be exhibited? How should the permanent collection be defined? For three years, Samuel Lajus observed each stage in the creation of MuCEM.
