The body of the painter and illustrator Stéphane Mandelbaum was found assassinated, hidden in a crevice in rocks. He was 25 years old. He left behind a work of an incomparable strength. Fascinating work shot through with fundamental anxieties : origins, sex, death.

In the form of a subjective jigsaw puzzle, the director tries to reconstitute the painter’s itinerary, goes to the places he went, meets his family, his friends, those who remain... The man constantly evades us, but the painting lets us get gradually closer, vibrant, alive, mixing fascination and pain.
