Les Aigles foudroyés
Frédéric Mitterrand
1997 - 75 min - Vidéo - Couleur et Noir & Blanc - France

Director Frédéric Mitterrand presents over nine hours of rare archival footage showing the last years, from 1896 to 1918, of the imperial families Romanov, Habsburg and Hohenzollern - whose emblem was the Eagle.
In the moving chronicle, Mitterrand follows Russian Czar Nicholas II, Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany and Emperor Franz Josef of the Austro-Hungarian empire and their families, bringing to life the fundamental changes taking place in Europe at the start of this century.
The series of 7 x 75 minutes (7 x 55 on preparation) programmes took about two years of research worldwide.
