Le Cas H. Berlioz
Claire Alby, Andy Sommer
2003 - 52 min - Couleur - France

After having ignored his genius for a long time, France finally pays homage to one of her rare 19th century composers with festivals and concerts exclusively dedicated to Berlioz.
The festivities were to culminate in a ceremony bringing the composer’s ashes to the Paris Pantheon, the temple of the nations Greatest. But, once again, fate was to be against Berlioz and the ceremony has been postponed.
Some were outraged at this perceived slight, others were happy that Berlioz would be left to rest in peace. After all, he’d never asked for such honours... Berlioz’ outstanding "Symphonie Fantastique" offers the musical backdrop to the composer’s life and this strange “curse” that surrounded him.
