Zone rouge Série-Collection : Les Moissons de fer

Gérard Rougeron
1998 - 52 min - Betacam SP - Couleur et Noir & Blanc - France

From the Armistice to 1928, ten years in the little town of Péronne, situated on the Somme battlefront, a devastated land called the "Red Zone". Red Zone meant cafés and brothels set in ruins for the thousand of troopers from the whole world, dozens of thousands of corpses to be identified and buried in hundreds of graveyards, millions of buried shells to be found and exploded, ploughers killed in action, children amputated, metal, guns and gold smuggling... It also meant business, good or bad, thanks to the reconstruction rush.
Today, an old lady remembers how a little girl became a young woman in Péronne during the "Crazy Years", in the shadow of the Great War, and she recalls the forgotten pictures of the "Red Zone".
