The style of French group Zebda, a band of seven musicians, can be best described by "musical melting pot".
They hail from the northern suburbs of Toulouse and exploded onto the French musical scene in the 1990s with their fusion of rap, ragga, reggae, ska, rock, Andalusian guitar, French accordion, and classical violin. In fact, Zebda's style is too hybrid to be classified. Moreover, their deliberate blending of particular musical styles articulates a vision of multiculturalism that underlines the politically outspoken lyrical content of their songs.
