Women are Heroes
JR
2010 - 80 min - France

Woman are heroes unfolds in the four corners of the world and, more specifically, in Brazil, India, Kenya and Cambodia. The film begins in the Brazilian favelas where one will recognize huge posters of JR and the reactions that they provoke amongst women. Next in India, where we will discover women caught between ancestral customs and the modernity of daily life. Then Kenya where, there again, women must live in a more chaotic and unstable context. Finally, in Cambodia, we will be confronted with the ultra-violent expropriation done to households run by a matriarchal system that attempts to stand up to the real estate mastodons ... Every one of these women will amaze us with her courage and faith.
