This is a valley where, before, there was no shortage of work, a valley that the inhabitants quickly baptised "Happy Valley". This name stuck over the years, despite worries, times that changed and the increasing shortage of work.
Through the eyes and the encounters of Rémi, a former stone-cutter, "Vallée heureuse" tells the evolution, from 1905 to today, of a valley connected to a dominant firm : the Société des carrières de la Vallée heureuse.
Retired now for some years, Rémi has kept all the enthusiasm of his young years and remembers, as if it was only yesterday, his start at the Société des carrières de la Vallée heureuse.
It was on 2 September 1946, he was just 14 years old.
