More than 50 years of civil war in Burma have caused an increasingly severe humanitarian crisis. Millions of civilians have lost all their human rights due to the conflict between the military dictatorship and various armed ethnic groups
In Mae Sot in Thailand, the NGO Back Pack Health Worker Team trained some refugees for emergency aids and surgery. These volunteers cross clandestinely the burmese border to bring humanitarian aid to ethnic populations hunted by the military junta. During their missions, which take several months, they risk their lives defying the burmese authorities and land mines in order to rescue men, women and children who would be otherwise completely forgotten.
