Une maison à Prague
Stan Neumann
1998 - 70 min - Super 16 mm - Couleur et Noir & Blanc - France, Allemagne, République tchèque

A great century, which is coming to a close. A great city, Prague. A small house, where I was born.
The house has made its way through the century, with all the problems a house can have : leaks and cracks, remodeling, threats of being demolished. And the century has made its way through the house as well. It has led its inhabitants from the anarchist movement to communism, then to stalinism, them to "socialism with human face", then to real socialism, then to plain old reality.
Today, I feel the need to go back to this house and to the stories it has to tell. My house is my frame of reference, my observation post, my yardstick.
