Between poetry and realism, the film recounts the daily life of André and Marie-Thérèse, 64 and 70 years of age, and that of their children and their animals of all species (hair and feathers). A motley crew, who work hard, dance and laugh a lot, despite the impending closure of? "Ferme de la Barrière" farm. This film is also the story of my enjoyable encounter with them, an encounter that involved mutual initiation: they taught me their ancestral know-how and my pictures gave them unexpected insight into their environment.
The film is an ode to the lives of this small farm endangered. Its history is revealed as the viewer's eyes in a sort of visual and audible polyphony in tune with what is happening every day in the backyard.
Shooting video, such as photos and drawings reflect the universe of "Ferme de la Barrière" by reviving the Belgian naturalist painting. Thus, I bring attention to materials of all kinds: food, coats, materials, waste, droppings ... The eye of the camera invites the viewer to immerse themselves with equal attention to the uniqueness of each member of this small farm people (men, women, children, livestock, fur, feathers, ... the large and small, beautiful and scarred, food and waste, useful objects and futile...
