The film focuses on the daily life of a family of twelve, the group’s religious, social and political problems, their attitudes towards the environment and technological advances. Marta Rodríguez and Jorge Silva followed the couple of poor brick makers, Maria and Alfredo Castañeda, and their family for one year, which helped them to build up tremendous complicity. Mixing together testimonies and the backbreaking labour, the strange and surrealistic images enable the filmmakers to convey the aspirations of an oppressed people.
