Tahrir
Liberation Square
Stefano Savona
2011 - 90 min - HD - France, Italie

Cairo, February 2011. Elsayed, Noha and Ahmed are young Egyptians involved in the revolution, therefore occupying Tahrir Square night and day. They keep saying, shouting and singing, together with thousands of other Egyptians, what could not be said in the past. The regime’s bloody crackdown fuels their revolt: at Tahrir, people resist, learn how to discuss and throw stones, how to invent watchwords and treat the wounded, how to defy the army and keep hold of conquered territory – it is a space for freedom, where you become intoxicated with words.
Tahrir is a film written by the faces, hands and voices of people who experienced these days on Tahrir Square. It is a daily report about the revolution, side by side with the protagonists.
