On deathrow in Indonesia
Christine Tournadre
2017 - 52 min - Couleur - France

Alongside the wife of the condemned man, Serge Atlaoui Since 2005, Serge Atlaoui’s wife, Sabine, has been fighting to get her husband freed. Their life changed dramatically in October 2005, when Serge was arrested in a factory in Jakarta that was manufacturing ecstasy.
Since 2007, Christine Tournadre has been filming Sabine, between Indonesia and France, as she attempts to make progress, and whenever possible, filming Serge in prison. She has also recorded their telephone conversations. Thanks to the trust that has been established over the years, the director has been able to get a close-up view of the hellish drama that has afflicted the death row prisoner, his wife and their friends and family. A drama that tragically picked up pace in the last weeks of April 2015.
