Imre Boc bore his humanistic ideal through the century. Because he was Jewish Hungarian born in the inter-war years, he had to face the worst negation of the person Europe produced : nazism and stalinism.
Anti-nazi "terrorist" in France or Hungarian state employee, Imre Boc never gave up the culture of the "honest man" he learned from his grandfather.
At the end of his life, he takes part in the new democracy rising in his country, keeping a watchful eye on it.
