Nice is a live-in maid in a large house where she lives confined. Like many young women in her social condition coming from the countryside in Brazil, she left her village to go work for wealthy employers in the city. With her camera in hand, the director accompanies the young woman, who she has known for many years, in her daily chores.
Nevertheless the film does not merely describe this much ignored and much underrated job. The film gives Nice a voice as she expresses her opinion about the job and her condition, sometimes crying, other times laughing. She also transports us beyond the domestic work with her joys, her projects and her fears.
