They live isolated from the world from centuries. They live in the Aïlao Mountains in the south of the province of Yunnan, in China.
Two thousand years ago, a people in flight took refuge in these mountains. To survive they attacked the steep slopes. They worked the mountain and soon invented the growing of rice on terraces. The news of the discovery spread everywhere and the Chinese Emperor came to give them a reward. Struck by amazement in front of the landscape they had created, he named them “the mountain sculptors”.
For two thousand years no one will hear any more about them and yet, each year they continue to sculpt a new mountain. The Great Dragon is their sorcerer.
