In 2008, after the release of her novel "Les Années", Annie Ernaux was recognized by critics as one of the foremost writers of our era. For the author, every place, thing or event corresponds to, and transmits, a period in our lives. A life of an individual is a unique experience, but also common ground.
For the author, writing is neither a matter of introspection nor a narcissistic exercise, but rather the transmission of a life experience. Each of her books is linked to a place and theme. A journey through an entire era, her magnificent and singular body of works also reflects the breakdown of the social fabric.
