Les Maîtres de musique : Régine Crespin Série-Collection : Les Maîtres de musique

Jacques Deschamps
1997 - 57 min - Betacam SP - Couleur - France

Régine Crespin teaches, after having been considered as the greatest French dramatic soprano of the century. This woman that a well-meaning and observant journalist once called "the lioness of France" gives her advice nowadays in the whole world without having lost an ounce of her blunt speech, her humour and a disarming naturalness that her colleagues usually lack.
With the pupil, she tries to identify precisely the problem encountered. In so doing, the couple look at vocal techniques, the meaning of the words, their place in the work, aesthetic considerations, intimate personal problems, the weather, the concert the night before. Régine Crespin's teaching art is as much in her knowledge (singing techniques) as in the quality of the relationship that she wishes to have with the most fleeting of the trainees of one of her masterclasses : the pupils reveal themselves, usually for the better. A singing lesson with her is an adventure, being present at it is a privilege. Olivier Bernager.
