Who really knows anything about private detectives ? Are these people still around today or are they merely fragments of film, TV and comic strip myth : disguised in gabardine coat and broadbrimmed felt hat ? Could one of your neighbours hire a detective ? Could an acquaintance actually work in the trade ? Strange thoughts.
The film follows four Parisian detectives with very constrasting personalities. Their stories illustrate with humour, business acumen and always with philosophy, the joys and frustrations of their professional life.
