The film dives into the life of "Ateliers Loire", which for three generations perpetuate an art and techniques that showcase the worldwide expertise of stained-glass makers of Chartres.
This is the story of a bet, every time foolish: to master and to magnify the light, in respect of a place and architecture. Whether it is by realizing their own stained-glass windows or in association with prestigious artists, the Loire stained-glass makers form a kind of choral ensemble, constantly in the reflection, the gestation, the dialogue where from the next stained-glass window will be released. They are craftsmen in love with their subject and who, through their mastery, remind the poetry of the glass, this unique material that tells the glorious and ephemeral light.
