Les Albinos en Afrique

From the myths and legends of albinos in Africa to the hopes raised by medical research, our film tries to sum up the situation of albinos in Gabon and Mali.
We will refer to the various beliefs and customs (often of extermination) that the presence of these "exceptional beings" has aroused.
We follow some of them in their daily life : Rosalie Ngoua's children who are well integrated and continually protected from the dangers of the sun by the constant attention of their mother ; and, other who, ill-informed or forced to work in direct sunlight, have to suffer the pain of exclusion and face a gradual degradation of their health.
The plight of most albinos in Africa, is still today difficult to bear...
We also witness the courageous and often difficult actions of Thierno Diallo and Rosalie Ngoua who both head several associations for the protection and integration of albinos in African society.
