With the end of the cold war, the French Foreign Légion has more than ever been present in international conflicts. In fact, whenever France sends troops to UN or NATO missions, it is the soldiers of the Légion who are allocated.
Yet, we know little, if anything about this 160 years old organisation. What precisely is this army and what lies behind its myth ? What is this unique military force actually achieving and who are those men, from more than 130 differents nationalities ?
Two years in the making, this film answers these and many more questions. Using exclusive footage and privileged interviews, it documents the heart and souls of this curiously monastic army.
