A journey through the landscape of the "dirty hands" disease, with film shot at the cholera hospital at Dakka in Bangladesh and in nearby villages. From Asia to Latin America - where there was a recent outbreak - via Africa, retracing the path of the Vibrio microbe which for centuries has decimated populations in episodic attacks.
An exploration of a disease which plagues mankind, and which each society has tackled differently, focussing on the socio-economic mechanisms which suggest that cholera will be with us for some time to come.
