Lætitia Carton
2009 - 89 min - DV Cam - Couleur - France
In Laetitia’s family, you learn how to grow and live with a genetic neurodegenerative disease, Huntington’s disease, which gradually deprives you of all your faculties. A disease that sets in slowly, at any age, before killing you. The director grew up with the fear of this sickness. There now exists a test to know if she is a carrier of the gene. A 50/50 chance. "Private" diary of this long "presymptomatic" test.
This is not a film about illness, it tells the story of a struggle between a family and a terrifying, perverse and multiform enemy she nicknames the octopus.
