2013 - 52 min - Couleur - France

In the 1950s and 1960s, Alexander Calder, Victor Vasarely and Jean Tinguely achieved success with kinetic art, a trend originating in the early twentieth century that explores the relationship of movement and light in painting and sculpture, doing away with the distinction between the two, in a spirit of drama and playfulness.
The film tells the story of this movement in the words of its pioneers (François Morellet, Yaacov Agam, Julio Le Parc), its successors (Ann Veronika Janssens, Philippe Decrauzat) and, drawing on rich archives, those no longer with us (Soto, Nicolas Schöffer, Tinguely).
