L'Assassinat de Félix Moumié
Franck Garbely
2005 - 53 min - Beta digital - Couleur - Suisse

On November 3, 1960, the leader of the cameroonian opposition, Felix Moumié, is poisoned in Geneva by an agent of the French secret service. This famous political activist who fought for the independence, had risen in 1950’s against the French colonial power and its influence in Africa. This period was precisely marked by a fierce repression of the independence movements, in a context of anticommunist fight. The film explores the darkest aspects of the French presence in Cameroon and follows Marthe Moumié in her attempt to disclose the truth on the assassination of her husband and to obtain his rehabilitation.
