The yew is in every way surprising : a plastic tree that can be clipped in the most fantastic ways (hedges, benches, pyramids, mazes, windmills !), it is also a poisonous tree with certain substances, taxol and taxotere, that have a therapeutic effect on anticancerous cells...
This film traces, thanks to documents from archives and interviews with specialists, the history of this tree which once was revered with mistletoe by the Welsh, and whose pharmacological properties continue to be exploited successfully today, in particular for breast cancer which occurs in ever-increasing numbers.
