L'Amitié plus forte que la haine
Daniel Kupferstein
2004 - 88 min - DV Cam - Couleur - France

Since fall 2000, more than 700 anti-Jewish acts have been committed against temples, Jewish schools and individuals. This turning point corresponds to the second intifada. That middle-east conflict has been exported and re-opened old injuries between Jews and Muslims in France. While extremist wings on both parts of each community strive to reinforce hatred, two women (one Jewish, the other Muslim) have been keeping a mutual friendship and respect for 12 years now as if nothing could prevent them. They have been living in the same district in the suburbs of PARIS, belonging to the same social class, their children have been being educated in the same schools, their friendship underlines a real contrast, a true gap between their own life and the description of hatred, the fear of the other given by the Jewish and the Muslim communities.
Hacinia and Rosie’s life are evidence that we are all able to live according to our feelings and not according to our race or religious beliefs.
