Khaled was born in Oran, at the dawn of the independance of Algeria. He was 13 when he recorded his first single. Twenty years later, he has risen to wide world fame.
This film presents the dazzling career of a Raï singer. The director has followed him for one year, making a moving portrait of the Oran-born "phenomenon". From London, New York, Amsterdam and Cairo, in concert and backstage, Khaled expresses the suffering of the Oriental soul.
