Manoel de
1997 - Portugal/France - Couleur - 95'
The story begins with filming operations for a French-Portuguese production where a Portuguese director contracts a French actor to work in his film. Although he was born in France, the actor is the son of a Portuguese father who died many years previously. During the filming sessions, he decides to visit his father’s village in the hopes of meeting up with an aged aunt. The director and two other actors decide they will accompany him on this journey. During the trip, the director reminisces over childhood memories of the region. In the village, they meet the actor’s aunt who tells him all she can remember about his father.
