“An emotional film. Feelings and thoughts on an icy night “. (Klaus Wildenhahn) Spending New Year’s Eve 1978, from eight in the night to seven in the morning, near Gate number 2 of the Mannesmann factory, with the workers on strike to obtain a thirty-five-hour work week. Tor 2 makes the vivid and still essential portrait of a workers’ community, that above all celebrates the happiness of belonging together, and being committed to a common struggle. An independent movie, self-produced, shot in Super 8 by Klaus Wildenhahn and Jutta Uhl, then upgraded to 16-mm by avant-garde filmmaker Helmut Herbst.
