Shot in the empty studio where Margaret Tait used to live in her Orkney islands family house, at a time when women filmmakers were still struggling to be allowed into the very male dominated London Film-makers Co-op, Tailpiece seemed to echo Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own. “The film covers the time of finally emptying a long-time family home, with its personal memories and connection with some of my own work.” (Margaret Tait)
