“For over ten years, Algeria has experienced a slow war, a war without any frontline, which has however caused over one hundred thousand casualties. Zinat and Kamel, two youngsters from Algiers who are alternatively bewildered and merry, disheartened and serene, want to drive all over the desert before they leave. A road movie around the city of Algiers, whose construction sites are actually ruins. Rome Rather than You will show that leaving one's country is not a way of refusing to fight, but a dark struggle against what you have been given.” (Tariq Teguia)
