Archaeologist Olivier Weller decided to conduct a dig at a location where Jacques Demy shot several scenes from his film Donkey Skin. Everything is gone but pearl-beads, nails, sequins and other traces are revealed at the first tentative scrapings of the surface. Following this survey, Skin Deep Fairytale tries to approach the fascination exerted by a tale whose origins go back to oral tradition. What is this story searching in us?
