An experimental meditation around the A-Bomb Dome, a former Japanese business centre now become the symbol of the destruction of the city of Hiroshima by the American atomic bomb in 1945. Built in 1915, it was the only building to remain standing in the immediate vicinity of the explosion. The A-Bomb Dome has never been repaired: remaining as it was the day of the bombing, it very quickly became a souvenir monument to the hundreds of thousands of dead of August 6, 1945.
