Shortly before the start of the play, the curtain is raised, and a man takes the stage pleading desperately that he be heard by the audience. He asks to "expound on his own case". He is soon interrupted by a member of the theater staff and then by an actress, by the author himself and, finally, by all of the company. Each holds forth about his "own case" and a debate ensues. The play is finally to be performed, but the discussion by those present begins once more, in the same way. A passage by Samuel Beckett is heard. The plot includes excerpts from the literature of José Régio, Samuel Beckett and from The Book of Job in the Old Testament.
