The Go use their bodies like cash tills, in the hope of gaining a bit of independence. They flee family violence, living in hiding and in shame. One by one, I film these outcasts in precarious areas and in the ghettos of Abidjan. From detail and silence emerges an enigmatic part of themselves that breaks with the prejudices that stigmatise them. The cinematographic response favours the choreography of the characters’ bodies and the unpredictable.
