A symbol in the eyes of city dwellers of authentic nature, the French forest is undergoing a period of unprecedented industrialisation. Heavily mechanized, managed with monoculture, fertilizer and pesticides, the forest is being quickly converted to the methods of modern intensive agriculture. From the Limousin to the Landes, the Morvan to the Vosges, The Time of Forests proposes a journey into the heart of the timber industry and its alternatives. A living forest or a wooden desert, today’s choices will determine tomorrow’s landscapes.
