Felix Rozen is a highly rated artist. Over the past forty years, he’s been setting himself an early morning appointment that takes place in his studio... There, every day, he buckles down to work. Between 1970 and 1983, I was privy to this practice. Then, at the age of thirteen, I drew away from him. Now, after all these years, I’m back in his studio and I’m pulling on a thread linking his art and our story. Through this fresh look at his work and the exchanges I wanted it to generate, I have attempted, in my own way, to paint a portrait : depicting a man whom I cannot, simply and exclusively, call « my father ».
