With striking aesthetics, the film describes different aspects of the countryside and life of the Motzin in Transylvania: a region inhabited by woodsmen and shepherds, rich in minerals: the work of gold diggers, columns of basalt, caves of ice as well as scenes of the traditional "Young Women's Fair". Țara Moților won a prize at the 1938 Venice Festival.
