A very free version of Maupassant’s short story. In an isolated house by the sea, a very handsome, but very vulnerable young man feels how a wave of madness is progressively rising in him. The director played remarkably on colours (for this, Pollet worked with painter Claude Bellegarde) to express visually the character’s feelings and thoughts.
