Jean-Pascal is an executive manager who is active in his company, invested in his work, and careful about his professional success. He is what is called a "rurban": he lives in the country and takes the high-speed train several times a day to go to and from work. His isolated life in the country has led him and those close to him to found a new type of community closer to the values of the land. Faced with the problems that the community has to overcome, he attempts to meet new people, themselves implicated in reflections on the community.
