Hors chant is a film beside the music, in the twilight zone of the stage : feet, hands, instruments, wires, looks, everything that is around the music when it happens. The camera is always showing less than expected, forcing you to imagine what the music looks like, and last but not the least paradox: you are listening more carefully the music. And music by John Tchicai is always a rare experience to be involved in.
