After several years navigating the beautiful and polluted Bay of Guanabara, Germano and his crew opt to fish in other waters. Despite having a small fishing-boat and an old engine, they head out towards high seas. At dawn the engine breaks down: it was a sign from destiny that small scale fishing is coming dangerously close to its end. Nevertheless, Germano doesn’t lose his faith and reminds his fellow mates that they are in the Atlantic and that the sea is bottomless. But the following day, they nearly get knocked over by a large Russian oil tanker.
